Stretching the concept of the new year's resolution

In an earlier post, I mentioned that I was going to make time for creative pursuits this year. I have since declared Wednesday nights as "creative nights". No work allowed, just relaxation and a few hours spent working on something musical or crafty. I was really committed to making this work.

Well, it had to happen eventually---there is some work that must get done by tomorrow, and did not get done during the day today. (stupid, stupid, time-sucking hiring season!!) So work must be done tonight. But I did not want to cancel "creative night" altogether.

My solution? Spending 20 minutes dancing around my living room and singing bad 80's songs, loudly and probably a bit off-key.

That counts as "musical"....doesn't it?

It counts as exercise too. I do this kind of thing all the time when I'm home alone. I'll put on the soundtrack from Dirty Dancing or Grease or Footloose and happily dance around the house. It beats playing a computer game.

Hee. Sounds like fun. Sometimes you just need to listen to 80s music.
