Life Lessons #134

It is very, very hard to get back into the mindset of doing Real, Actual Work when you haven't done any work of any sort for over a month.

(With two immovable deadlines coming up very soon, I'd better find my productive groove quickly!!)

Maybe you should accept that baby stuff IS work and that you HAVE been productive for the last month? BabyJane is probably more rewarding, but don't forget to give yourself credit!

Nice comment of Jaclyn's. Regarding not doing work for a while and trying to get back in the groove, I have been experiencing that lately too. I did a completely different type of work during the school year as I was still in classes, but now it's summer and I'm back to research. At the end of the semester I was pretty down due to having failed the quals and I took a bit of a break, and then I dragged my feet for so long in getting back into things. But last week was really good and I'm more in the groove now, so I know it can be done. You can do it!

p.s. I want more posts about baby jane! I LOVE babies and I especially love hearing about being a mom and an academic. Tell us more about it!

Thanks, flicka mawa! Glad to hear you've gotten your groove back, and hope it continues for you! I have a couple of baby posts brewing; I'll try to put one up soon.
