Even if not, I've decided to crash the party anyway! Mwah ha ha!
Order of the Science Scouts of Exemplary Repute and Above Average Physique
(as seen over at Adventures of Ethics and Science and Thus Spake Zuska)
Here are the badges that I've earned:
Talking Science. Self-explanatory.
MacGyver. Hey, if nothing else, I should get this for jury-rigging my car's hood closed for several years after a rather unfortunate run-in with a pickup truck.
I Blog About Science. Again, self-explanatory.
Arts and Crafts. For putting together an especially memorable and geeky Halloween costume one year. Plus, some poetry.
I'm Pretty Confident Around an Open Flame. I was the student who managed to set her experiment on fire every week in lab. As a result, I can now extinguish many different types of fires with ease. So I think I've earned this badge on that basis alone.
Destroyer of Quackery. At least where computer technology is concerned.
My Degree Inadvertently Makes Me Competent in Fixing Household Appliances. Or at least household electronics. (Although I do have a soldering iron and I'm not afraid to use it!)
Will Gladly Kick Sexual Harrasser's Ass. Yep, been there and done that.
Has Frozen Stuff Just to See What Happens, Level 1. Hey, who hasn't?
I Bet I Know More Computer Languages Than You, and I'm Not Afraid to Talk About It. Well, not all of you, but most of you, I'm betting.
I Know What a Tadpole Is. Self-explanatory, I hope.
Experienced with Electrical Shock, Levels 1-3. Remember the comment above about setting the lab on fire every week? Yeah, I didn't have any better luck around the electronics, either...
Fellow scientists, which badges have you earned?

Umm, that's not an ass being kicked...heck, that's really not even a kick...
Oh, and what are the levels of the shocks for 1, 2, & 3? I think I my qualify for level 4 if there is one.
I think "ass" was meant metaphorically, Scooter... :) But yes, it does look quite painful. I believe the levels for the shock badges are: shocking of an organism (Level 1); shocking of another human (Level 2); shocking of oneself (Level 3). If you click the badges, you get the explanations.
(What would Level 4 be?? I'm curious, now!)
Let's just say that I've been hit with 110 quite a few times, but once in college, I found an open panel in a wooden housing, which I assumed must be dead. I stupidly touched something, and got hit with a shock like I'd never felt before. I'm assuming it was 220, but may have been high-voltage DC or a higher voltage. I'm pretty confident that if it hadn't caused my arm to pull involuntarily away, I wouldn't be around to tell the story.
Jane! Welcome to the Scouts! Computer Scientists are most certainly welcome! And clearly you are a most worthy member.
I am pleased to say that I am the one who proposed the Not Afraid to Kick Sexual Harasser's Ass badge, though I am not the one who designed the badge itself. Though I do think it is a spiffy design. Hee.
