* I should be in bed, but I made the fatal mistake of working into my late night "second wind" period. Now my work is done, but I'm completely wide awake. Hmmm. I'm torn between doing a bit more work (which could easily lead to me losing track of time and staying up for several more hours) or going to bed and trying to force myself into a calmer state (by quasi-meditating or something like that). Tomorrow's a very busy day, so I should go with the latter.
* Sometimes there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from a well-written, thoughtful homework assignment. I just hope the students have as much fun with it as I did coming up with it.
* When I tell people that I regularly take one day completely off from work, they look at me like I'm some sort of time management goddess to be able to pull this off. Most people don't seem to understand that time away enhances my productivity, that I can actually do more in less time this way (and I'm certainly not alone in thinking about this). But then I also think how sad this profession is, that we talk about not being able to afford to take a single weekend day off per week! How f-ed up is that?
* There is no task I hate more than having to order food for a group of people. Large group or small group, it doesn't matter--I hate hate hate trying to figure out how much to order, and I always get it wrong. Ack. I did not go to school for this.

Ooh, that late night second wind can be evil!
But the well written homework and the day off every week are cool!
