So I will never, ever be in the ranks of Profgrrrrl or PowerProf in this particular area, but I did briefly feel a kinship to them when this happened:
The other day, I was standing outside on campus talking to someone, when a good friend came up behind me and joined our conversation. The first thing she said was "At first I wasn't sure if that was you or not, Jane, but then I saw the boots and knew instantly it was you!"
Who knew that people around campus recognize me for my footwear! I feel so honored to be part of the Famous Boots Club, if only for a brief time.
