First rule of parenthood: All plans are tentative

I should have known it was too good to be true.

I had the perfect day planned: daycare drop-off, then home to do work for a few hours, followed by a long, romantic lunch with Mr. Jane (we so sorely need to go on a date!!) at a place we've been dying to try.

Guess who woke up with a fever this morning and didn't go to daycare?

So instead, we are spending Valentine's Day doing the Child Care Shuffle. Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get takeout for lunch.

Sigh.

Bummer!!

I hope you got to enjoy some quality time during naps or something at least!

Yeah, unfortunately "during naps" was seen as "quality work time", even on the weekend (since we both needed to catch up on the work we couldn't get done on Thursday and Friday). Oh well. We're tentatively planning on taking some time off next weekend to get out and do some family things to make up for the forced confinement.
